Abstract

Laser operations, such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), have become valuable tools in managing glaucoma. SLT helps reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) by improving the outflow of aqueous humor, often delaying the need for medications. LPI is effective for certain types of glaucoma, like angle-closure, by creating a hole in the iris to improve fluid drainage. These procedures offer less invasive options with fewer side effects compared to traditional surgeries, making them beneficial for glaucoma patients in both treatment efficacy and quality of life.
