Abstract

Our study aimed to isolation of Staphylococcus aureus from clinical samples in Al Fallujah teaching hospital in period between December 2022 to March 2023 which result in collection of one hundred and seventy samples from different clinical samples include urine, blood, wound, eye swab and cereprospinal fluid (csf). All of samples subjected to cultural identification, microscopic examination, biochemical tests and Vitek 2 Compact for further identification. The results of bacterial culture showed that 125 sample out of a total of 170 samples had growths. While 45 samples did not show growth even after a 48-hour incubation period. The samples were distributed as following: wounds (5), eyes swabs (59), urine (75) , blood samples (30), cereprospinal fluid CSF (1), As for positive growths, they are distributed as follows: The following: wounds (5 swabs), urine (56), eyes (58), blood samples (5), and csf (1). Uniplex PCR used for detection the presence of enterotoxin b gene (entb) among thirty isolates of S. aureus. In conclusion, this study revealed the wide distribution of the genus Staphylococcus among bacterial isolate from clinical samples 80 isolates 64% out of 125 isolates.which may be the main reason contribute for the increasing bacterial phathogenicity among people community especially in the hospital environment and subsequently increasing disease caused by these species especially S. aureus which have wide array of virulence factors.
